The Doraemon | Kipling collection is now available in Singapore and the entire Asia Pacific (APAC) region! The collection feature a set of feminine, practical styles including handbags, backpacks, shoulder bags and phone bags.
The icon in Japan that is renowned worldwide is now bringing a generation back in time to their childhood memories. Just like Doraemon, over the past few decades, Kipling’s iconic stories have transcended generations and international borders. The campaign brings the spirit of exploration and curiosity to live through a series of bright pops of colour. Doraemon | Kipling invites you to follow along and explore this colourful and exciting world.
Jessi Miller Webster, lead designer on this project, treasured working on a collection that is deeply rooted in nostalgia, “we never forget beloved characters from our childhood. They remind us of happy times and that is what we wanted to convey in this collaboration.”
Talking about the inspiration, the collection is based on a juxtaposition of playful and chic. Both youthful and sporty details were included and executed through the red webbing, embroidered patches, PU trims, metal jewellery-like hardware, and an unexpected, Doraemon-printed, feminine lining. The cherry on top is the unique, metallic charm: an abstract interpretation of Doraemon’s collar bell. To represent Doraemon’s playful universe, the collection comes in the fictional character’s main colours: red and blue. A deep navy blue was chosen for the bags’ base tone to maximise elegance and femineity.
Amongst the selection: the ART MINI, the small version of Kipling’s iconic tote bag features a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap as well as multiple compartments for practical organisation. The SUPERFUN, a crossbody phone bag that is perfect for those who just bring their phone along. The GABBIE MINI, a small-sized shoulder bag with an adjustable strap, a generous main compartment and multiple organisational pockets. The NEW HIPHURRAY, a practical drawstring tote bag that can be worn by the handles or by the drawstring’s straps. And finally, the LABI, a trendy, medium drawstring bucket bag with a detachable strap for a fuss-free style.
